Their health needs haven't stood still.

NEITHER HAS RESEARCH.

A Teen COVID-19 Clinical Research Study for Adolescents with Qualifying Health Conditions

As a parent or caregiver, you've always done what's needed to help protect your teen's health.

If your teen lives with certain health conditions, they may qualify for a clinical research study evaluating an updated investigational vaccine designed for today's circulating COVID-19 variants.

Check Your Teen's Eligibility

Every family protects their teen differently.

Living with an ongoing health condition often means thinking ahead.

Routine appointments, medications, checkups, and conversations with healthcare providers all become part of everyday life. Clinical research is another way some families choose to stay informed while helping researchers continue learning about future care.

Could this describe your teen?

  • 12 - 17 years old.

  • Lives with certain qualifying health conditions*.

  • Previously received a COVID-19 vaccine.

  • Parent or legal guardian available for study visits.

Why research continues

Researchers continue studying updated approaches because viruses continue to change over time.

This study is evaluating how an updated investigational vaccine performs in adolescents who may be at increased risk of severe illness due to certain underlying health conditions. The study will evaluate safety and immune response over approximately six months.

Check Your Teen's Eligibility

Your family's privacy matters.

Your family's personal information is handled confidentially according to research regulations.

Before participation, you'll receive detailed information explaining exactly how your information is protected and how it will be used throughout the study.

Your questions deserve answers.

What is a clinical research study?

Clinical research helps doctors learn more about investigational treatments and vaccines. Every approved vaccine available today was made possible because volunteers chose to participate in carefully monitored research.

Will my teen receive the study vaccine?

Yes. This is an open-label study. Every eligible participant receives the investigational study vaccine. There is no placebo in this study.

Can we leave the study?

Yes. Participation is completely voluntary. You and your teen may leave the study at any time without affecting regular medical care.

Is the study monitored for safety?

Yes. Your teen's health will be monitored throughout participation by experienced research professionals. Study procedures include scheduled visits, follow-up contacts, and ongoing safety monitoring.

What happens after I complete the screener?

If your teen appears to qualify, someone from the study team will contact you to answer questions, explain the study in more detail, and discuss next steps.

There is no obligation to participate.

You don't have to decide today.

The first step is simply finding out whether your teen may qualify. If the study isn't the right fit, that's okay. If it is, you'll have all the information you need before deciding.

Check Your Teen's Eligibility

Participation is voluntary.

Not everyone who completes screening will qualify.

*Examples of qualifying health conditions may include asthma, diabetes, certain heart or lung conditions, or other underlying medical conditions that may increase the risk of severe illness from COVID-19. A study doctor will review all eligibility requirements to determine whether your teen qualifies for participation.

†Compensation and reimbursement vary by study site.
